Catalog records include information about where a book or journal or movie is located. Look in the boxed section in the middle of the record.
Status
The status line will tell you whether a book is checked out, lost, has recently
been ordered. Journals cannot be checked out. Most movies are library use
only.
Location
Location tells you to go to the Main Stacks (Pleasant Hill),
or Berkeley Stacks. These
are regularly circulating items. Other locations you may see include Main
Circulation Desk, San Jose Reserves, or Berkeley
Desk. This indicates that these items are held behind the desk
and are on reserve for a limited check out period. Media Display
locations denote items that may be checked out of the libraries, and Reference
locations refer to items in our reference collections (library use only).
Call Number
Write down the complete call number. It acts as the "address" of an item in the library.
